Dr. Husni Tafesh - (Acting) Chief Population Health Officer (CPHO)

Effective January 1, 2018, Dr. Husni Tafesh was appointed JHAH Chief Population Health Officer (A). In addition, he remains Chief of Care Management, managing the medical care provided at network providers across the Kingdom, and continues in his position as Chair of the Population Health Committee. In addition, Dr. Tafesh serves as chairperson of the Inter-Regional Referral Committee’s Special Service Committee.

Dr. Tafesh joined the Saudi Aramco Medical Services Organization (the predecessor to JHAH) in January 1988. In 1994, he was promoted to head physician in the Al-Hasa Health Center EMS, and in January 1997, he was appointed head of the ‘Udhailiyah Health Center.

In April, 2004, he joined the Medical Care Management Department and worked in different capacities including unit head and then division head of the Medical Designated Facility Department in the western, central and eastern provinces.
Dr Tafesh graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan in June 1983. He completed residency in internal medicine at the same university and was granted a Master’s Degree in Internal Medicine in June 1987.
Dr Tafesh has attended multiple development and management training programs in Saudi Aramco and JHAH, including an 18 month course with the American College of Physician Executives and is a member of the American College of Physician Executives.
