recipe Apple Milkshake

Pear and Pomegranate Salad is rich in fiber and suitable to be served with a selection of low fat cheeses and unsalted nuts.


  • 4 fresh, ripe pears (peeled, cored and sliced into thin pieces)
  • 2 medium size pomegranates (skin and membrane removed)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (ground)
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg (ground)
  • 3 tablespoons of almonds or walnuts (chopped)
  • 6 sprigs of mint leaves


  • Place the pear slices and pomegranate seeds in a bowl
  • Toss the mixture with lemon juice
  • Add honey, cinnamon and nutmeg to the mixture and mix well
  • Keep it in refrigerator for 1 hour to have a combination of flavors
  • Serve in individual bowls
  • Top with chopped almonds or walnuts and garnish with mint leaves

Low fat cheese or unsalted nuts can be served on the side.
