Physician Manger, Occupational Health

Physician Manager, Occupational Medicine Consultant Dr. Ahmed AlTayyar is the Physician Manger for occupational health at JHAH. He is an Occupational Medicine Consultant at the Health, Safety, and Environment Department. Dr. AlTayyar has served as JHAH's Chief of Preventive Medicine (A) and Head of Occupational Medicine (A). He has over 20 years of Experience serving both Saudi Aramco and, most recently, Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare.

Dr. AlTayyar is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Occupational Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Internal Medicine. He received his training at the University of Toronto in Canada. In addition, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from King Faisal University, currently known as Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He obtained a Diploma in Industrial Health from the University of Toronto in 2011.

Dr. AlTayyar earned a Master of Science in Engineering and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2017. He also served as the Chairman of the Student Life Council for the Systems Design and Management Program and was the Class Senator at MIT Sloan School of Management.

Dr. AlTayyar is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM). He is also a member of the Occupational Medicine Society of Canada (OMSOC), and a member of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), in addition to being a member of the Saudi Cancer Foundation and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

Dr. AlTayyar recently completed the Team STEPPS Master Trainer Course of the Armstrong Institute for patient safety and quality in November 2022 and the Patient Safety Officer Training Course in November 2022.

He occasionally lectures at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University and is keen on teaching residents and specialists in the field of Occupational Medicine.

JHAH Patient Safety Symposium 2023

Dr. Ahmed AlTayyar will be the JHAH’s 2023 International Quality and Patient Safety Symposium “Future Healthcare Through Patient Safety Innovation” moderator. The symposium will be held on March 19-20.
