Dr. Amar Sattar

Dr. Sattar currently works as a Family Medicine Consultant in Dhahran. He is serving as the Chairman of the Person Centered Committee and is heavily involved in Residents teaching. He also serves on the IRB and Drugs and Therapeutics Board.

Dr. Sattar Joined JHAH as a Family Practice Specialist at Ras Tanura Primary Care Centre in 2012. He was Chief of Ras Tanura from 2016 to 2020.

Dr. Sattar graduated from Manchester Medical School in England with Honors in 2002 and completed his House Jobs at the National Institute of Spinal Injuries, Aylesbury, England. He completed his Residency program in Family Medicine in the Oxford Deanery and passed his CCT with a distinction from the Royal College of General practitioners in 2006 (MRCGP Distinction). He also secured the Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He became the youngest Principal Partner in his whole deanery when he was appointed at Riverside Surgery, a historic and influential training practice at the age of 27. He has a strong interest in both Primary Care training and Management. He completed his Post graduate certificate in Medical Education from Oxford Brooks University in 2008 and became a post graduate Family Medicine trainer in 2009. He was appointed on the Professional Executive Committee board for South bucks Primary Care Trust in 2010. The same year he was able to become a PCT appraiser and soon after an appraisal lead. He also sat on the Bucks Drugs and Therapeutic Committee. In 2011 he was selected by the Royal College of General Practitioners London, for the National Young Leaders Program which he complemented with distinction. His interest is in developing Person Centered Care within healthcare Organizations, Communications Skills training, Primary Care Management and process improvement within Primary Care.
