After receiving a major trauma to his nose about seven years ago, a 21-year-old patient came to the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Clinic at the Al-Hasa Health Center (AHHC) complaining of a severe breathing problem.
In the examination, it was determined that the patient’s blockage was not just severe; his breathing was almost completely blocked. Surgery was scheduled for the earliest date.
On July 28, Dr. Zaidon Alrawashdeh, Associate Consultant, AHHC Specialty Medicine Department, and his surgical team conducted three procedures to treat the patient’s condition. They performed an adenoidectomy to remove the adenoid, which was impairing breathing; a septoplasty to straighten the patient’s deviated nasal septum; and corrected an external deformity caused by the trauma.
The patient was discharged in good condition the following day, and during his August 1 post-op visit, his breathing had improved significantly and he was very pleased.
“I want to thank Dr. Alrawashdeh, his team and everyone involved in helping alleviate this patient’s suffering,” said Dr. Abdullah Al Mulla, Chair Al-Hasa Medical Services. “This was the first time that three ENT procedures have been done in one session at AHHC, and it serves as a testament to the capabilities of our medical providers.”
